Home Remedies For Gastritis




  • Rice gruel is another excellent remedy for acute cases of gastritis. One cup of rice gruel is recommended twice daily.

  • Potato juice has been found valuable in relieving gastritis. The recommended dose is half a cup of the juice, two or three times daily, half an hour before meals.

  • An infusion of marigold in doses of a tablespoon may be taken twice daily.

  • A fresh ginger if chewed before taking meals stimulates digestion, thus preventing gastritis.

  • A combination of spinach juice mixed with carrot juice is highly beneficial in the treatment of gastritis.

  • Application of heat through hot compressor or hot water bottle twice in the day with empty stomach has also been proven beneficial.

  • Lemon juice is also an effective remedy for the treatment of gastritis.

  • In a cup of hot water put half a teaspoon of licorice root tea. Strain the tea and drink. Repeat this at least 3 times daily. This is very helpful home remedy for gastritis.

  • Tamarind water should be taken along with asafoetida and cumin water. This is very effective natural remedy for gastritis.

  • 125 grams of curd, 2 grams of Sprague and half gram of black salt taken together also provides relief from gastritis and is good home remedy for gastritis.

  • Chew roasted fennel after meals.

  • Use of buttermilk and curd along with asafoetida and cumin water is highly beneficial and is one of the effective home remedies for gastritis.

  • Don’t consume alcohol, nicotine, spices and condiments, flesh foods, chilies, sour things, pickles, strong tea and coffee, sweets, pastries, rich cakes and aerated waters should be avoided.
