• குழந்தைகளின் உலகம் மிகவும் உன்னதமானது. அதை கெடுப்பதில் முதல் பங்குவகுப்பது அவர்களை பெற்றவர்கள், அடுத்து பள்ளிக்கூடங்கள், இவை இரண்டும் இல்லையென்றால் “வேலை” என்ற ஒன்று இல்லை. மனித இனம் தனக்காக உழைக்க கற்றிருக்கும். வேலை என்பது ஒரு அவமானமான செயல் என்பதை உணர்ந்திருக்கும். (வேறு எந்த உயிரினமும் தன் இனத்தில் மற்றவைகளுக்காக வேலை செய்வதில்லை) குழந்தையாக இருந்து இந்த சித்ரவதைகளில் சுழன்று இன்று ஓரளவு இந்த (so called) வாழ்க்கையிலிருந்து விடுவித்து எனக்குப் பிடித்தமான “இயன்றளவு இருக்கும்” இயற்கையோடு இயந்த “தற்சார்பு” வாழ்க்கையைப் பல சிரமங்களுக்கிடையே மகிழ்ச்சியோடு வாழ்ந்து வருகிறேன்.
  
  
  மனித இனம் மட்டுமே தனது ஆறாம் அறிவால் இந்த இயற்கைக்கு எதிராக தீவிரமாக செயல்படுகிறது. மற்ற எந்த உயிரினமும் இயற்கைக்கு உதவியாக இருந்து தன்னை தற்காத்து கொள்கிறது. எனவே இந்த ஆறாம் அறிவே வேண்டாம் என முடிவு செய்து ஒரு பறவையைப் போல வாழ வேண்டும் என பல சிக்கல்களிலிருந்து இன்றுவரை என்னை விடுவித்து கொண்டிருக்கிறேன்.
  என்மேல் வரும் வியர்வை நாற்றத்தையும் சாணி வாடையை தாங்கி கொண்டு என்மீது எப்போதும் அன்பைப் பொழியும் என் மனைவி, குழந்தை மற்றும் என் கருத்துக்களுக்கும் எண்ணங்களுக்கும் ஆதரவாக இருந்து என்னை தினமும் செதுக்கிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் எனது நண்பர் “சட்டையணியா சாமியப்பன்” அவருக்கும் பலவிதங்களில் கடமைப்பட்டுள்ளேன்.
  பருவ காலங்கள் இனி வரப்போவதில்லை என்றாலும் காலையில் சூரியன் எழுவதையும் மாலையில் மறைவதையும், எப்போவாவது மழை வருவதையும் எதிர்பார்த்து எனது நாட்கள் நகர்ந்து கொண்டுதான் இருக்கிறது.
  (குறிப்பு: இங்கே நான் எழுதும் கட்டுரைகள் அனைத்தும் ‘என்னையும்’ இயற்கைக்கு எதிரான இந்த மனித மூளையையும் நையாண்டி செய்யவே எழுதப்படுபவை. யாரோடும் விவாதம் செய்யவோ, விளக்கம் கொடுக்கவோ விரும்பவில்லை. எல்லோரும் தெளிவு பெற்று இயற்கையைப் புரிந்துக்கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்ற எண்ணம் கொஞ்சமும் இல்லை. எல்லோருக்கும் எல்லாமும் தெரிகிறது. எழுதபடும் அனைத்தும் தூங்க முடியாத நேரங்களில் என் சிறிய மூளையை நச்சரித்தவை.
  இந்த தளத்தில் உள்ள கட்டுரைகள் அனைத்தும் எந்த உரிமைக்குள்ளும் பதுக்கப்படாமல் சுதந்திரமாக உள்ளவை. இவற்றை நீங்கள் எப்படி வேண்டுமானாலும் பயன்படுத்தி கொள்ளலாம். (திருடலாம், பகிரலாம், காரி துப்பியும் கொள்ளலாம்.)

Mouna Guru - Super Scenes

Arulnithi comes to meet his brother but the house is locked. Iniya,a medical college student and sister of his sister-in-law comes and helps him get into the house as she has a soft corner for him. He collects money from his brother and bids bye to his brother too. His sister in law does not like him talking to her sister.

Arulnithi's mother grumbles that though he is smart and brilliant he is unsuccessful because of the anger. Upset Arulnithi goes to the terrace. Iniya follows him and Arulnithi opens conversation with her and confesses that he feels happy if she holds his hand. 

Iniya invites Arulnithi home when her sister's family are out on a tour. She cooks for him and Arulnithi criticizes about it. When the door bell rings they get scared that the family is back, but are relieved to know that it was the gas cylinder delivery man.

Arulnithi's hostel security is checked about the number of entrants of students. Though the father suspects something fishy the watchmen manages. Arulnithi comes to meet his mother. He meets his brother's inlwas family there. He is not entertained properly there and even feels Iniya will leave him and go.

கதைக் குறிப்பு

ஆவணப்படங்களை இயக்குவதில் ஆர்வம் கொண்ட அருண் (கமலஹாசன்) என்னும் இளைஞன், விளம்பர நிறுவனம் நடத்துகிற தனது நண்பன் (ரஜினிகாந்த்) அலுவலகத்தில் பணியாற்றும் மஞ்சு (ஸ்ரீபிரியா) என்னும் பெண்ணைச் சந்திக்கிறான். உலகில் பெண்களின் இருப்பைப் பற்றியதான, "முழு வானில் பாதி என்று தான் பெயரிட்ட அந்த ஆவணப்படத்திற்கு உதவியாகப் பணி புரியுமாறு வேண்டுகையில், மஞ்சு தயக்கத்துடன் சம்மதிக்கிறாள்.

இருவருக்கும் இடையிலான சந்திப்புகளில் அருண் மெள்ள மெள்ள, துவக்கத்தில் ஆணவம் மிக்கவளாகத் தோற்றமளிக்கும் மஞ்சு, வாழ்க்கையில் தனக்கு நிகழ்ந்த தொடர் தோல்விகளின் காரணமாக, வாழ்க்கையின் மீதும், மனிதர்களின் மீதும் நம்பிக்கையற்றுப் போயிருப்பதை உணர்கிறான். அவளுக்கு நம்பிக்கை அளித்து தானே மணக்க விரும்பும் அருணின் முயற்சி தோல்வியடையவும், அவன் தனது தந்தை தனக்காகப் பார்த்த பெண்ணை மணந்து கொள்கிறான். அச்சமயமே அவன் மீது தனக்குள்ள காதலை உணரும் மஞ்சு, "மீண்டும் ஒரு முறை இறக்கிறாள். இருப்பினும் அவள் மீண்டும் பிறப்பாள். அவள் அப்படித்தான்."

வெளியீடும் விமர்சனங்களும்

கமலஹாசன் மற்றும் ரஜினிகாந்த் முன்னணி நடிகர்களாக நிலைபெறத் துவங்கியிருந்தபோது, வண்ணப்படங்கள் மிகுந்த அளவில் தயாரிக்கப்பட்டு வருகையில், கருப்பு வெள்ளைப் படமாக இது 1978ஆம் வருடம் தீபாவளி அன்று வெளியானது. இதன் நெகிழ்வற்ற திரைக்கதை அமைப்பினாலும், உத்திகளும், குறியீடுகளும் நிறைந்த இயக்க முறைமையினாலும் வர்த்தக ரீதியாக (நடித்திருந்த மூவருமே முன்னணி நட்சத்திரங்களாக இருந்தபோதிலும்) தோல்வியுற்றது. மேலும், அச்சமயம் வெளிவந்த கமலஹாசனின் சிகப்பு ரோஜாக்கள் மற்றும் ரஜினிகாந்தின் தப்புத் தாளங்கள் ஆகிய பெரும் படங்களுடன் போட்டியிட முடியாமையும் ஒரு காரணமானது.

வெகுஜன ரசிகர்கள் முதல் பார்வையில் நிராகரித்து விட்டபோதிலும், திரையுலகைச் சேர்ந்த பலரும் இதனை வெகுவாகப் பாராட்டினார். சிகப்பு ரோஜாக்களின் இயக்குனரான பாரதிராஜா, வெற்றி பெற்றாக வேண்டும் என்ற நிர்ப்பந்தம் இருப்பதனாலேயே இது போன்ற படத்தைத் தம்மால் இயக்க இயலவில்லை என மனம் திறந்து குமுதம் பத்திரிகையில் பாரட்டியிருந்தார்.

ஆயினும், இதற்கென ஒரு ரசிகர் குழாம் உருவாகியது. அடுத்த சில ஆண்டுகளில் பெரு நகரங்களில் பல திரையரங்குகளில் இது மீண்டும் மீண்டும் காலைக் காட்சிகளாக வெளியானது.

படத்தின் சிறப்பம்சங்கள்

மஞ்சு என்னும் ஒற்றைக் கதாபாத்திரத்தை மையமாகக் கொண்டு, செயற்கையான திருப்பங்கள் ஏதுமின்றி வெகு இயல்பாக அமைந்திருந்த திரைக்கதையும், அக்கதாபாத்திரத்தை ஏற்று நடித்திருந்த ஸ்ரீபிரியாவின் நடிப்பாற்றலும் குறிப்பான சிறப்புக்கள்.

கதாநாயகர்களாக நிலைபெற்று இருப்பினும், கமலஹாசன் மற்றும் ரஜினிகாந்த் ஆகிய இருவருமே படத்தின் மற்றும் தங்களது பாத்திரத்தின் தன்மையை உணர்ந்து, எந்த ஒரு நிலையிலும் தங்களது ஆதிக்கம் வெளிப்படாதவாறு மிகச் சிறப்பாக, இயக்குனரின் நடிகர்களாக, தமது பங்கீட்டை வழங்கியிருந்தனர்.

தனது கடந்த கால ஏமாற்றம் ஒன்றை விவரிக்கையில் ஆவேசம் (hysteria) மிகுந்து வெளிப்படும் காட்சியில் மிக அற்புதமாக ஸ்ரீபிரியாவின் நடிப்பாற்றலும், அக்காட்சியமைப்பினைத் தாங்கும் வண்ணம் தன்னை முன்னிலைப்படுத்திக் கொள்ளாத கமலஹாசனின் இயல்பான நடிப்பும் மிகுந்த பாராட்டுப் பெற்றன.

கதைக்கேற்ற இசையினை இளையராஜா வழங்கியிருந்தார். முதன்மையாக பியானோ இசையில் உருவாக்கப்பட்டு ஜெயச்சந்திரன் பாடிய "உறவுகள் தொடர்கதை" என்னும் பாடல் இன்றளவும் பிரபலமாக உள்ளது. எஸ்.ஜானகி "வாழ்க்கை ஓடம் செல்ல" (பந்துவராளிஎன்னும் ராகத்தின் அடிப்படையில்) என்னும் பாடலைப் பாடியிருந்தார். கமலஹாசன் தனது சொந்தக் குரலில் "பன்னீர் புஷ்பங்களே" (ரேவதி இராக அடிப்படையில்) என்னும் பாடலைப் பாடியிருந்தார்.

சிறப்பு விமர்சனம் :

அவள் அப்படித்தான் படம் பார்த்தேன். மிகச் சிறந்த திரைப்படம்தான். அதில் சந்தேகம் எதுவும் இல்லை. 

ஆனால் திரைப்படம் முழுக்க ஸ்ரீப்ரியா ஆண்களால் ஏமாற்றப்பட்டுக்கொண்டே இருக்கிறாள். முதலில் கிருபா என்பவர் மேல் காதல் வருகிறது. பெரும்பாலான ஆண்கள் சொல்லக்கூடிய குடும்ப சூழல் என்ற காரணத்தைச் சொல்லி விலகுகிறான். பிறகு மனோ என்ற பாதிரியாரின் மகன்  மீது காதலில் விழுகிறாள். ஒரு கட்டத்தில் வீட்டைவிட்டு வெளியேறி மனோவிடம் தன்னை திருமணம் செய்துகொள்ளவேண்டும் எனக் கேட்கிறாள். அவன் தயங்குகிறான். வெளியே சென்று வருவதாகக் கூறிவிட்டு அவளது தந்தையை அழைத்து வந்து விடுகிறான். தான் நல்லவன் என நிரூபிக்க அந்த தருணத்தை பயன்படுத்துகிறான். மேலும் அவள் தன தங்கை போல் என்று சொல்கிறான். அவள் கொதித்துப் போகிறாள். அதை எல்லாம் கமலிடம் சொல்லி வெடித்து சீறுகிறாள். அவன் என்னை கெட்டவார்த்தையால் திட்டி இருந்தால் கூட பரவாயில்லை "தங்கை" என்று சொல்கிறானே. 

இன்னொரு காட்சியில் அவளது அலுவலகத்தில் வேலை செய்யும் ஒருவன் அவள் மேல் வைத்த கையை எடுக்காமல் இருக்கிறான். எந்தப்பெண்ணும் கேட்க கூசும் கேள்வியைக் கேட்கிறாள். உடனே அவன் "ஐயூ நீங்க எனக்கு அக்க மாதிரி மேடம் என்று சொல்கிறான். உறவுகளை ஏன் இப்படி கொச்சைபடுத்துகிறாய் என்று கன்னத்தில் அறைவதுபோல் கேட்கிறாள்.

வீட்டில் அவள் தாய் செய்யும் அத்தனை அயோக்கியத்தனங்களையும் ஆண்கள் படம் முழுக்க அவளுக்குச் செய்கிறார்கள். 

இதில் அவளது குற்றம் என்ன? அவள் அப்படித்தான் என்று அவள் ஏதோ தவறு செய்தவள் போல ஒரு தலைப்பு எதற்காக? ஆண்கள் அப்படித்தான் என்றல்லவா இருந்திருக்க வேண்டும்? நான் படத்தை தவறாக புரிந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறேனா ? தெரியவில்லை.

Widely regarded as the best Tamil film ever made, which I agree with, Aval Appadithan is an outstanding cinematic work that continues to provoke and impress all those years later. With an unlikely cast of stars, including Kamal, Rajini and Sripriya, the film explores the life of a woman prejudiced against men (Sripriya) and how Kamal enters her life, only to be mystified by her personality. Rajini is marvellous as the chauvinistic lecherous boss. The film is complete in every respect, be it direction, performances, screenplay, music (Ilayaraja, of course), editing, cinematography, et al. If there is one film that Tamil cinema can be proud of, it is this. Awesome.

the movie stands out in every bit be it the theme, direction, dialogues, music and acting. i have heard about the movie from a lot of people but couldn't get a chance to see it. but when i saw it was truly outstanding. a movie way ahead of its time. the story revolves around Manju(Sripriya), a girl who loses faith in relationships with men(due to past experiences) and consider men to be chavnistic in their attitude and the way Arun(Kamal) is intrigued by her character. Manju's boss Rajini is awesome in his role as a boorish person. the music is a class apart composed by none other than the maestro ilayaraja. rudraiah should be commended for this audacious and awesome movie. the only detraction might be the use of too many English catch-phrases which at times are sweet but gets a bit too much as the movie progresses. anyways the movie is a must see for all those dying to see a good tamil movie. futuristic. bold. gripping. that should sum up the movie.

One of the all time best Indian movies, 17 September 2011

one of the best Indian moves ever made. Underplay done by one of the greatest Indian actors ie Kamal hassan, a bold rold played by yesteryear's actor sripriya and uncharecteristic role enacted by South India's cine star Rajini kanth are the highlights of the movie. India's best ever music director Ilayaraja's brilliance can also be seen in this movie. Lots of English dialogues which is unlikely in Indian cinemas in 70's is a surprise, but they as sharp as it could be. no clichés no nonsense, this is a very complete movie. Climax was spot on with kamal's voice essaying the journey of sripriya. this is a must see movie.

An uncompromising film of female psyche, 23 December 2009

Aval Appadithan surely ranks among the very best that Tamil Cinema has to offer international Cinema. The low and bleak lighting and photography being black and white and with varied angles and depth give the film a documentary style and enforces the realism behind harsh realities of life in Tamil Nadu, particularly to the woman who is always pressurized into submission and slavery under one pretext or another. The torment and torture undergone by a sensitive and caring female psyche and its distortion by male chauvinist Society into bizarre and unpredictable forms and shapes is the theme and though the acting of all including Rajinikanth as a male chauvinist and soft spoken Kamal demand appreciation, it is the acting of Sripriya which is extraordinarily brilliant...It is true that songs are out of place in such a serious, stark and sombre film but this is a small defect when juxtaposed with other merits. It is most unfortunate that neither critics nor intellectuals of Tamil Nadu or India have taken notice of this remarkable and unforgettable movie ... It is indeed a milestone in both Tamil and Indian Cinema and far ahead of its times...

this film aval appadithan is the best film in Tamil till now .It has a great sense of realism in it except for the songs which is required for commercial purposes.It reveals the prejudices of our society towards women who are socially active and question the male authority.Rajnikanth has done an excellent job and kamal hassan too has done his part well but sri priya hogs the lime light as the protagonist.The frames, lighting seems to be impeccable and the music of ilaiyaraaja is absolutely awesome. the song paneer pumpernickel has great lyrics and questions the male chauvinistic society which has a totally different gaze towards the female body.every body should watch this movie. i don't know why kamal never speaks about this film in his interviews is surprising and only a very few have written about this movie.
